The Chen Lab uses integrated structural and cellular biology   
approaches to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying the assembly  
of this complex envelope, providing insights for developing new therapies
against infections caused by M. tuberculosis and emerging nontuberculous  
mycobacteria (NTM).
